Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your interest in the Master of Arts in English program at UW Oshkosh.  Please click on the links to the left to learn more about the program.  We also encourage you to stop by the English Department, Radford 216, to obtain program materials and an application form. Please note that the program requires the GRE General Test only.

Our program has been designed to fill the needs of individuals seeking a graduate degree entirely on a part-time basis.  Most classes are offered in late afternoon or evening hours throughout the normal school year. We offer at least one course each summer.  It is possible to enroll on a full-time basis as well.

If graduate study in English will help you to attain your personal career goal, our Master of Arts program may be right for you.  To be considered for admission to the program in fall, your application materials should be received by March 15 (we have one admission cycle each academic year).  In addition to the UW Oshkosh Graduate School application packet, those wishing to be considered for admission to the Master of Arts in English program must submit GRE scores, three letters of recommendation, and an essay of 1,250 words, which will enable the admissions committee to determine if candidates for admission have the requisite writing skills to complete the program successfully.

If you have any questions regarding the program, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you.  Please call me at 920.424.7281 for further information or to schedule an appointment.

Sincerely,

Professor Margaret Hostetler
Director, Master of Arts in English Program
