To celebrate Wisconsin’s Sesquicentennial in 1998, I helped organize:
  1. A community theatrical performance Out in the Darkness; The Story of the Great Oshkosh Woodworkers’ Strike of 1898
  2. An exhibit of Rise of a Landmark, a Photographic Recollection of the Creation of the Empire State Building , by Lewis Hine
  3. Special cancellation of Lewis Hine postage stamp
  4. The formation of a Lewis Hine Society to promote and preserve Hine’s work and memory
  5. A presentation with 70 Lewis Hine slides on “An Oshkosh Boy Opens the Nation’s Conscience on Child Labor” at the 17 th Annual Conference of the Wisconsin Labor History Society in Oshkosh
