NCSA's 19th annual conference, "Nineteenth-Century Spectacles," hosted by Rutgers University, took place  March 18-20, 1999, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

All conference sessions were held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1800 Market Street in Philadelphia on either Friday, March 19 or Saturday, March 20.

Professor Auerbach's presented her talk, entitled "Common Fears: Victorian Monsters Invade America," on Friday afternoon.
